Thank you for your interest in the Conservancy's Community Leadership Boot Camp. This
leadership training prepares residents from across L.A. County to advocate for
historic and cultural places in their communities. Curriculum offers best practices and lessons from
the field, heightens awareness of current local preservation issues, and
deepens individual and group leadership skills.
Eligibility: 18 years of
age or older. Los Angeles County residency and active L.A. Conservancy

Deadline to
Apply: July 10, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. PST. Selected applicants will
be notified by July 24.
Summer/Fall 2024 Community Leadership Boot Camp Schedule:
- Orientation Wed Aug 14, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
- Session 1 Sat Aug 17, 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Session 2 Wed Aug 21, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
- Session 3 Sat Aug 24, 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Session 4 Wed Sept 4, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
- Session 5 Sat Sept 7, 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.*
- Session 6 Wed Sept 11, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
All sessions will
be held online via Zoom with the exception of Session 5.
*Session 5 on September 7, 2024 will be an in-person field session at a location TBD during the early
part of the Boot Camp program. This session time may need to be adjusted to
accommodate site visit availability.
ATTENDANCE
As each session of Boot Camp builds on the last, we require attendance at Orientation and all sessions. The Community Leadership Boot Camp includes approximately 13 hours of session time. To receive a certificate of completion from our program, a participant is expected to attend all sessions.
INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM PROJECTS
As part of the Community Leadership Boot Camp, you will be asked to complete
individual and group assignments. Boot Camp participants should plan to devote between 3-5 additional hours outside sessions to
individual and team projects during the program.
